Toddler
Craft Supplies That are Good to Have on Hand
Clearly
the crafts that you will be assisting your toddler in have to be
simple projects and for this reason the craft supplies that you
should have on hand are actually very simple and inexpensive. Although
these craft supplies are used in simple projects they are very fun
to use.
Colored
Construction Paper - it seems that nearly every craft
that exist for a toddler uses construction paper and it is no
wonder. Both colorful and sturdy construction paper allows your
toddler to decorate their craft and make it strong enough to
last a while and be played with.
Glue
- although glue can be messy at times it is almost necessary
to use on many of the different craft projects that there are
for toddlers. Both liquid glue and glue sticks will come in
handy for toddler crafts, as liquid is a bit stronger but when
your gluing paper to paper a glue stick can be a lot easier
for your toddler to use and a whole lot less messy.
Tape
- tape is a great alternative to glue, especially when you realize
that you don't have glue. If you find that you have a tape crazy
toddler who loves to put lots of tape on their crafts then they
would love Chicken Socks Totally Tape (to your right).
A fun craft book with color tape that lets your child do what
they want to . . . keep on taping.
Scissors
- although your little one will not be using scissors it is
good to have some on hand for any cutting that mom or dad have
to do. When your child is old enough to use their first pair
of scissors consider getting the kind that are oversized so
that they have to use both hands to cut paper.
Crayons
- non-toxic and washable crayons are the best that you can use
for your toddler, as sometimes they just can't help but taste
them. You can find crayons that are designed for a toddler to
be able to grip them better helping them with their drawing
and learning how to one day write.
Index
Cards
- usually construction paper can be used for any craft project
that calls for index cards but they are very sturdy and when
you have them on hand you find that they do come in handy. You
can find them in white, great for coloring, or in assorted colors,
great when you don't have crayons.
String
- some simple yarn can be great to have on hand for toddler crafts.
Adding string to any picture that your toddler creates can make
it that much more easier to hang on the wall and enjoy.
Food Boxes
- before you throw away the empty cereal box, the empty macaroni
and cheese box or any other food item box remember that you may
be able to use it in a very fun craft for your toddler.
Toilet Paper
Rolls
- toilet paper rolls are used in many crafts, you never know with
a paper cylinder will be perfect for the craft project that you
and your toddler are doing so don't throw them away.
As you can
see there are many toddler crafts supplies here that you already
have on hand and always have on hand.
